The principle
What is extrusion?
In a twin-screw extruder, two screws rotate in the same direction. With added water, they mix, transport and heat the ingredients. The combination of mechanical and thermal energy changes their texture and structure.

Structure & shape
From ingredient to shape
At the end of the extruder, a die shapes the mixture to the required dimensions and form. As it leaves the die, the product expands and is cut. It can then be dried to the required moisture content.

Our expertise
Understanding the process
Ingredients and process settings affect the result. Our specialists coordinate temperature, screw configuration, water addition, residence time and screw speed.
The possibilities of extrusion
The process provides control over the finished product’s structure and, in turn, the eating experience.
